Waveguide Sweeps, Miter Bends & Elbows

Micro Communications designs and manufactures standard and custom waveguide sweeps, miter bends and elbows in various angles. MCi elbows, bends and jogs are available in both E-Plane and H-Plane configurations. These can be either mitered or swept-radius. Typically, standard angle for sweeps, elbows and bends is 90 degrees. However, angles other than 90 degree can be readily fabricated and supplied in a timely manner to minimize design costs.

Waveguide Sweep Bends

MCI designs and manufactures standard and custom sweep bends in various radii and angles. Contact MCi regarding your application and we’ll find the best fitting RF or microwave component solution. All waveguide sweep bends are electrical optimized for superior electrical performance over a restricted bandwidth (typically VSWR 1.02:1 over a 10% bandwidth).

  • Available in 1/8″ and 1/4″ wall thickness
  • Chromate or painted
  • Custom flange sizes

Typically, the standard material used for bends is 6061-T6 Aluminum. However, we also offer in Copper, Brass, Stainless Steel, and Invar. Uniquely, MCi also offers waveguide sweeps, bends and elbows for both high pressure, and for high vacuum applications. Seen below is a WR187 UHV Waveguide Sweep Bend.

Waveguide Miter Bends

MCI designs and manufactures standard and custom waveguide miter bends in angles from 20 to 90 degrees. For angles less then 20, “Jogs” or “Flex” waveguide can be utilized. Contact us regarding your application and we’ll find the best solution. All bends are electrical optimized for superior electrical performance over a restricted bandwidth (typically VSWR 1.02:1 over a 10% bandwidth).

  • 1/4″ and 1/8″ wall thickness designs
  • Various finish and paint options
  • Custom flange options, including half-height
