MCi develops a wide range of waveguide couplers for power monitoring and system control. We design, engineer and manufacture couplers in the following configurations: directional loop, vestigial loop, cross guide, broadwall, multi-hole, sidewall, branch line, hybrid and beyond. Micro Communications directional couplers are suitable for factory or field-installation.
MCi waveguide couplers are available in 1/8″ and 1/4″ wall thickness. In terms of options, we offer various paints and finishes, with a range of custom flange sizes to fit your RF system, microwave assembly or project requirements. Our specialization is waveguide couplers in the WR90 to WR2300 range. Typically, we follow the industry standard for coupling values of 40 dB, 50 dB and 60 dB. Microwave & RF Couplers: Standard and Custom Designs
MCi offers multiple robust coupler designs. Our standard and custom products are available to suit your project needs. While some standard designs have field-adjustable coupling – others are ultra-low profile, with factory-set coupling. As for custom designs, MCi has the capability to seal components for gas-pressurization or vacuum environments. We can also construct products using special dielectric materials. Typically, MCi uses specialty dielectric materials in high-radiation zones or similar environments.
For applications of very high power levels, MCi can implement liquid cooling or air cooling to fit your project, system, or application requirements.
Couplers are used across a range of applications ranging from monitoring system performance. Similarly, couplers can be used for test and measurement for calibration, as well as system interlocks.
Directional Loop Waveguide Couplers
MCI’s directional loop couplers are designed to couple signals from a high-power transmission line. Our high power loop couplers have an external load, and can measure either forward or reverse power without rotation by manually repositioning the load. Directional loop couplers can be installed in all waveguide components (bends, switches, straight sections) in any combination of setting.
We offer both monitor (single) and reflectometer (dual) style directional couplers.
Each coupler is factory calibrated to specified settings and fully traceable to the National Bureau of Standards and Technology.
